IQ Option Crypto Trading: CFDs and Options on Bitcoin and Other Coins (2026)

Last updated: 5 October 2026. The screenshots below were recorded that day on an IQ Option Practice account registered in Brazil, on the global platform. We traded nothing on 5 October; the Practice trade described in Step 4 (a $1 Bitcoin CFD, bought and closed on 4 October 2026) used only the virtual balance. Prices, spreads and asset counts change by the minute and by the day.

IQ Option offers cryptocurrencies in two ways. As CFDs, under Margin, you trade the price of a coin with leverage, with take-profit and stop-loss levels and no expiry; the Crypto group listed 80 assets on 5 October 2026. As options, under Options, you trade whether the price will be higher or lower at a set time; a search for “Bitcoin” found assets in the Blitz, Binary and Digital lists. In both cases you trade the price and do not hold the coin, so you need no wallet. This guide shows how to find a crypto asset, what the order panel asks for and what the numbers on screen mean. Depositing or withdrawing crypto is a separate topic, covered in does IQ Option accept crypto?

Quick answer

  • Two products: crypto CFDs under Margin → Crypto (80 assets on 5 October 2026) and crypto options under Options (Blitz, Binary, Digital). You trade the price either way; you hold no coins and need no wallet.
  • Leverage on CFDs: it depends on the asset: ×20 for Bitcoin, ×1000 for Bitcoin-PerpFuture, ×500 for Ethereum-PerpFuture, ×3 for AAVE. Leverage magnifies losses as well as gains.
  • Cost shown: the spread, 20.01 on Bitcoin (×20) and 15.1 on Bitcoin-PerpFuture at the time of the recording.
  • Options: a search for “Bitcoin” found 3 Blitz, 3 Binary and 2 Digital assets; the Bitcoin binary option showed a 91% profit.
  • Try it free: the Practice account holds $10,000 of virtual money; we traded and closed a $1 Bitcoin CFD on it on 4 October 2026.
  • Crypto deposits and withdrawals: a separate topic, covered in does IQ Option accept crypto?

How to trade a crypto CFD on IQ Option, step by step

We followed the steps on a Practice account. The numbers in each screenshot show where to click or look, in order.

Step 1: Open the asset menu

Click + in the tab bar at the top (1). The menu that opens lists Trending, Options (2) and Margin (3), each with the number of assets in it: 355 options and 697 margin assets on Monday 5 October 2026. On Sunday 4 October the Options group held 520, so the counts change with the day of the week.

Step 1: the plus button in the IQ Option tab bar opens the asset menu, with Options and Margin listed
Step 1: the + button (1) opens the asset menu, with Options (2) and Margin (3).

Step 2: Choose Margin, then Crypto

Click Margin (1), then Crypto (2). The Margin group had Forex 44, Stocks 499, Crypto 80, Commodities 23, Indices 21 and ETFs 30. The crypto list shows each asset’s change today, its spread and its leverage. At the top of the list on our account were Bitcoin-PerpFuture (3) with a spread of 15.1 and leverage ×1000, and Bitcoin (4) with a spread of 20.01 and leverage ×20. Further down came Ethereum-PerpFuture at ×500, many assets at ×200, and AAVE at ×3. A “How to trade CFD?” video sits under the left column.

Step 2: Margin, then Crypto, lists 80 crypto CFDs with Today, Spread and Leverage; Bitcoin-PerpFuture is x1000 and Bitcoin is x20
Step 2: Margin (1) and Crypto (2) list 80 crypto CFDs. Bitcoin-PerpFuture (3) is ×1000 and Bitcoin (4) is ×20.

Step 3: Read the order panel

Click an asset, for example Bitcoin, to open its chart. The order panel on the right asks for:

  • Invest (1): the amount you put in. Our panel showed $1.
  • Leverage (2): ×20 for this asset. The plus and minus buttons beside it change it; we did not test them.
  • Volume: 20 here, the position size that results from the investment and the leverage.
  • TP and SL (3): optional take-profit and stop-loss levels, +50.00% and −25.00% in our panel. They are measured on the amount invested. See auto closing on IQ Option.
  • Price: Market, which means the order fills at the current price.
  • Buy and Sell (4): the two prices, 85,610.10 and 85,590 at the time of the shot.
  • Spread (5): 20.01, the gap between them, which you pay when you open the position.

The panel has no Expiration field, unlike an option. The Margin asset menu has a “No expiration” selector instead.

Step 3: the order panel of the Bitcoin CFD: Invest, Leverage, Volume, take profit and stop loss, Buy and Sell, and the spread
Step 3: the order panel of the Bitcoin CFD: Invest (1), Leverage (2), TP and SL (3), Buy (4) and the spread (5).

Step 4: Buy or sell, then close

Click Buy if you expect the price to rise, Sell if you expect it to fall. In our test on 4 October, a $1 Bitcoin CFD at ×20 with TP +50% and SL −25% was bought at 85,290.94 and showed up under “Isolated margin”. Close then turns into Confirm; after we confirmed, the Practice balance was back at $10,000.00. Always test on the Practice account first: its virtual money cannot be withdrawn.

IQ Option’s Settings → Trading page offers two modes. Simple mode (isolated margin) allocates a set amount to each trade. Advanced mode (cross margin) uses your whole balance to support all cross-margin trades, so risk is spread across all of them and can affect your entire balance. See opening positions automatically for pending orders.

Crypto options on IQ Option

An option is a different product: you choose a direction and a time, and IQ Option shows the profit percentage before you trade. The two products also differ in what the panel asks for. Here is how to find a crypto option.

Step 1: Search for the coin in the Options list

Open the asset menu again, choose Options and type the coin’s name in the search field (1). Our search for “Bitcoin” found three assets in the Binary list (2): Bitcoin at 91%, Bitcoin/Gold at 90% and the iShares Bitcoin Trust at 90%. The counts next to the lists (3) were 3 for Blitz, 3 for Binary, 2 for Digital and 8 for Margin. The “profit” is the percentage IQ Option shows for that asset at that moment; it differs by asset and by day.

Step 4: searching for Bitcoin in the Options list of the asset menu finds Bitcoin at 91%, Bitcoin/Gold and the iShares Bitcoin Trust
Options step 1: the search field (1), the Binary results for “Bitcoin” (2) and the number of matches in each list (3).

Step 2: Open the option and read the panel

Click the asset. The panel shows Invest (1; $1,000 on a Practice account by default), Expiration (2; a clock time, 12:08 in our shot), the Profit (3; +91%, +$910 on $1,000) and the Higher and Lower buttons (4). It has no leverage, TP or SL field. We did not place an option trade.

Step 5: the panel of the Bitcoin binary option on a Practice account: Invest, Expiration, a 91% profit and the Higher and Lower buttons
Options step 2: the Bitcoin binary option: Invest (1), Expiration (2), Profit (3) and Higher and Lower (4).

Crypto options were not limited to Bitcoin. On 4 October, a Sunday, the Options group held 520 assets, among them crypto instruments marked OTC, such as DYDX, Sei and Pepe at 88%; on the Monday, the Trending list also showed Cardano (OTC) and Fartcoin (OTC) at 88%. OTC is a label on the asset; we did not check how those quotes are formed. Options are on the global platform; outside the European Economic Area the platform is operated by SKY LADDER LLC, registered in Antigua and Barbuda, according to IQ Option’s Licenses and Safeguards page (checked 4 October 2026).

Risks to know before you trade crypto

  • Leverage cuts both ways. At ×1000 on Bitcoin-PerpFuture or ×20 on Bitcoin, a small move in price is a large move in your result. IQ Option’s own wording on the Settings → Trading page says that in cross margin the risk can affect your entire balance.
  • The spread is a cost from the first second. Bitcoin ×20 showed 20.01 on our screen.
  • An option risks the stake. The profit percentage is what you would earn if the call is right; if it is wrong, the amount invested is at risk.
  • Weekend. On Sunday 4 October, crypto CFDs were open while forex CFDs showed an “Opens in 09h …” countdown, so the list of tradable assets changes with the day.

Crypto deposits, withdrawals and Bitcoin

Trading crypto CFDs or options does not need coins in your account.
